FROM STEVE QUAYLE - MUST READ

Conversations With Bob - Pt. 20

It didn't take Kathy long to convince Bob he needed to lay down for a little longer to allow the sedative a chance to wear off. Between barely being able to stand, and with his back now only partially numb resting for a little while longer sounded like a good idea. Still, Kathy wasn't satisfied knowing Bob as she did.

"Maria. I hate to impose, but would you stay with Bob for awhile and keep him company? Otherwise, he is going to start walking around seeing what trouble he can get into."

Maria smiled. "Sure. I'd hate to have to drag him back inside after he falls flat on his face."

"Ladies, you do know I'm here, don't you?" Bob asked.

"Yes, we know. Want we want you to know is that we know you, and sometimes you take on too much for yourself. And under these conditions, I out rank you." Kathy answered. "Now stay out of trouble for an hour or so Bob. I need to see what I can do or our young friend." With that Kathy nodded to both of them and left the room.

"I'm sorry to put you out like this Maria. You really don't have to stay. To tell the truth, a little shut eye sounds good right about now."

"I don't mind. Besides, it can't hurt to have someone keep an eye on you until you are yourself again. You go ahead and nap. Pretend I'm not here."

Bob was already starting to doze off, and didn't answer. With little else to do, she started looking over Bobs' weapons. Her late husband, John, had taught her quite a bit about firearms and she now put that knowledge to the test. Both the pistol he always carried, and the rifle he had spoken of earlier were old, but both weapons were in perfect working order. The pistol was a big heavy .44 Mag. revolver. She knew the type well. John had carried a .357 Mag. when at home, or kept it in his truck while on the road. While the cylinder would hold six rounds, Bob took the usual safety precaution of having the chamber under the hammer empty. The rifle was semi-auto. It was short, but had a powerful scope mounted on top, which told her the rifle would reach further that it appeared to. She looked at a round of ammo she had pulled out of the pocket of Bob's blood soaked and now useless jacket. Like the rifle and pistol, the round was small, but seemed to be
heavier than it should. She knew the power of the weapons, so it didn't surprise her. She was just amazed that anyone would voluntarily carry the heavy pair.

"Don't drop that. I reload them, so it is a little hot."

Maria turned at Bob's voice.

"Hi there, I thought you were going to catch a few winks."

"I was trying. I just can't seem to quite do it. Maybe it's the company. Sit down, lets' talk awhile."

"Thank you. This is quite some cannon you have here. Or maybe I should say cannons. How did you hold on to them when they started picking up all the guns?"

"It was a close thing." Bob admitted. "The truth is, it all comes back to what I've said for years. Know Thy Enemy. If you know what he can and is likely to do under a given circumstance, then you can take counter measures. In this case, I knew that they knew I had weapons. So I turned in the ones they knew about. I hid the rest, along with the ammo for them."

"Stop right there. If you turned in the weapons they knew about, why did you hide the rest, and what made you believe that the government was going to take them?"

"Know Thy Enemy. Ultimately our enemy is Satan. He wants to set up the throne of the antichrist in Jerusalem. While the U.S. was able to come to the aid of Israel, he couldn't do that. So, naturally he had to take America out of the picture. Even during WW II the Japanese knew better than to try to invade America because of the number of privately owned firearms. Firearms represent power, and every dictator in history has always disarmed the people they controlled. Otherwise they wouldn't really have control. The antichrist will be no different in that respect. He can not tolerate any threat to his power.

Now we narrow the focus a bit. If the American people had to be disarmed, how could they do that? How can they identify a gun owner? And what can I do to prevent them from taking my weapons?

Lets' start with the second question. How do they identify gun owners? Of course there were the registration lists. They got visits first. Then anyone that had ever had a hunting license. Then there were also those who the government would identify at gun shows."

"What do you mean by that?"

"I guess living out here you might not have heard of it, but yes it's true. I don't know how long it was going on, but agents from our own government would sit in the parking lot at those shows taking pictures of people and car tags as the people would arrive or leave. In their minds, if you were at a gun show, you must have bought one or more of those unregistered weapons. But those weren't the only ways to find out. Credit card purchases were traced. Magazine subscriptions were another good indicator of a firearms owner. If you don't like guns, why do you have subscriptions for hunting magazines?"

"So how did you avoid all of that?"

"First of all, I paid cash for everything that was even slightly related to firearms. Any weapon I bought was advertised in the local 'Bargain Traders' type magazine, or the local newspaper. They came from private owners, so there was no obligation to register them. I learned as a young man just how far some people would go to get guns out of the hands of Joe and Jane Average. In one bill that was proposed to control cheap easily concealed handguns, back in the sixties, a description of what qualified as a 'Saturday Night Special' as they called them was part of it. That pistol you were looking at is a .44 Magnum. It weighs over six pounds when empty and has a seven and a half inch long barrel. Yet it qualified as a 'Special' under the provisions of that bill. I knew then if I wanted to own a firearm, it had to be unregistered. That was the only way to be sure I could keep them."

"Didn't they get your picture at the gun shows?" Maria asked.

"I didn't go to them. Now consider, if you know you are at risk of losing your weapons, what do you do? By turning in what I had, I knew they would come looking for more. But that bought me some time. So I had to think like they do. How would I find a hidden cache of weapons? Most people aren't going to put their weapons too far out of reach. If they bury them, it won't be too deep. It is too hard to get to them that way. So a metal detector would find them. How do you defeat that? There are ways to do it. For example, instead of making the weapon invisible by burying it, put it in a place where there is so much metal the detector is useless. A junk yard, a rail road line, any metal pipeline, and lots of other places have huge amounts of metal. Tuck a weapon away there, and it is no longer visible. Another option would be to camouflage them. A rifle has a long piece of metal in the barrel. If you put that rifle in a couple of plastic bags, and bury it
right underneath any metal
water or sewage pipes underground, they disappear. The same is true of culverts they put under a driveway. The point is that a detector can't tell the difference between the barrel of a rifle, and the pipe. Since that pipe is going to be very long, clearly it is too long to be a rifle, why dig it up?"

"And so that's what you did, right?"

"Partially. I'm a great fan of the 'hide in plain sight' philosophy."

"'Hide in plain sight'? How do you do that?"

Gently, Bob rolled onto his uninjured side, and answered. "Again, Know Thy Enemy. Most people never learn to expect the unexpected. When I was still quite young, I read a comic book one time that had a fellow being a foster father to his nephews. One day, he brought home some donuts. Knowing that the boys would make short work of them, he hid them. Sure enough, while he was out, the boys came home and could smell the donuts. They tore the place apart looking for them. They never did find them. Why? Because their uncle had put the donuts on a curtain rod and hung it back in place. The boys never saw them. I did something similar with some of my weapons. Now I admit I was lucky according to some people. I believe I was blessed. At any rate, a handgun duct taped to the internal portions of a stove can't be detected by a metal detector, and the people searching for my weapons were under a time limit. They had other places to check. While they did pull out
the drawer under the oven and look inside, the oven itself is too heavy to be easily moved, so they didn't check places that were harder to reach."

"Let's get back to being identified as a gun owner. You mentioned credit cards. What did you mean about that?"

"Just what I said. Credit card companies keep records of all purchases. That includes things like cleaning kits, ammunition, targets, everything. A simple search program for words like those will bring up the name and address of the person who bought those items. So I used cash only. Cash has the advantage of always being the right size, shape, and color. Nobody ever takes it from you and cuts it in half. Except for a very few places, it is accepted everywhere, and nobody ever asks a question. No one ever has to wait for it to clear the bank like a check. And everyone is always happy to accept it."

"Bob you almost sound like you are a very suspicious person. If it weren't for what has happened to this country, I'd have my doubts about you."

"So would I if there wasn't a reason for it. The Bible tells us that we are each given certain gifts. I think The Lord designed it that way to get us to work together, instead of each one for himself. Two of my gifts are observation and discernment. When I saw the first signs that gun registration was coming, I knew confiscation wouldn't be far behind. That's why I never joined any groups that lobbied for gun owners in Washington. It's also why when they came looking for them, they didn't know what to look for. They never knew the number or types of weapons I had or didn't have. If you don't know what to look for, it makes it hard to know where to look."

G-D'S VENGEANCE HAS JUST BEGUN

Nahum Chapter 1

1 The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.
2 The LORD is a jealous and avenging God, the LORD avengeth and is full of wrath; the LORD taketh vengeance on His adversaries, and He reserveth wrath for His enemies.
3 The LORD is long-suffering, and great in power, and will by no means clear the guilty; the LORD, in the whirlwind and in the storm is His way, and the clouds are the dust of His feet.
4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers; Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.
5 The mountains quake at Him, and the hills melt; and the earth is upheaved at His presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
6 Who can stand before His indignation? And who can abide in the fierceness of His anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken asunder before Him.
7 The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that take refuge in Him.
8 But with an overrunning flood He will make a full end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue His enemies.
9 What do ye devise against the LORD? He will make a full end; trouble shall not rise up the second time.
10 For though they be like tangled thorns, and be drunken according to their drink, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.
יא מִמֵּךְ יָצָא, חֹשֵׁב עַל-יְהוָה רָעָה--יֹעֵץ, בְּלִיָּעַל. {ס} 11 Out of thee came he forth, that deviseth evil against the LORD, that counselleth wickedness. {S}
12 Thus saith the LORD: Though they be in full strength, and likewise many, even so shall they be cut down, and he shall pass away; and though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.
13 And now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.
יד וְצִוָּה עָלֶיךָ יְהוָה, לֹא-יִזָּרַע מִשִּׁמְךָ עוֹד; מִבֵּית אֱלֹהֶיךָ אַכְרִית פֶּסֶל וּמַסֵּכָה, אָשִׂים קִבְרֶךָ--כִּי קַלּוֹתָ. {פ} 14 And the LORD hath given commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown; out of the house of thy god will I cut off the graven image and the molten image; I will make thy grave; for thou art become worthless. {P}

PSALM 109 = THE YEAR 2009

Psalms Chapter 109

1 For the Leader. A Psalm of David. {N}
O God of my praise, keep not silence;
2 For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit have they opened against me; they have spoken unto me with a lying tongue.
3 They compassed me about also with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause.
4 In return for my love they are my adversaries; but I am all prayer.
5 And they have laid upon me evil for good, and hatred for my love:
6 'Set Thou a wicked man over him; and let an adversary stand at his right hand.
7 When he is judged, let him go forth condemned; and let his prayer be turned into sin.
8 Let his days be few; let another take his charge.
9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
10 Let his children be vagabonds, and beg; and let them seek their bread out of their desolate places.
11 Let the creditor distrain all that he hath; and let strangers make spoil of his labour.
12 Let there be none to extend kindness unto him; neither let there be any to be gracious unto his fatherless children.
13 Let his posterity be cut off; in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be brought to remembrance unto the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
15 Let them be before the LORD continually, that He may cut off the memory of them from the earth.
16 Because that he remembered not to do kindness, {N}
but persecuted the poor and needy man, and the broken in heart he was ready to slay.
17 Yea, he loved cursing, and it came unto him; and he delighted not in blessing, and it is far from him.
18 He clothed himself also with cursing as with his raiment, and it is come into his inward parts like water, and like oil into his bones.
19 Let it be unto him as the garment which he putteth on, and for the girdle wherewith he is girded continually.'
20 This would mine adversaries effect from the LORD, and they that speak evil against my soul.
כא וְאַתָּה, יְהוִה אֲדֹנָי-- עֲשֵׂה-אִתִּי, לְמַעַן שְׁמֶךָ;
21 But Thou, O GOD the Lord, deal with me for Thy name's sake; {N}
because Thy mercy is good, deliver Thou me.
22 For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.
23 I am gone like the shadow when it lengtheneth; I am shaken off as the locust.
24 My knees totter through fasting; and my flesh is lean, and hath no fatness.
25 I am become also a taunt unto them; when they see me, they shake their head.
כו עָזְרֵנִי, יְהוָה אֱלֹהָי; הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי כְחַסְדֶּךָ. 26 Help me, O LORD my God; O save me according to Thy mercy;
27 That they may know that this is Thy hand; that Thou, LORD, hast done it.
28 Let them curse, but bless Thou; when they arise, they shall be put to shame, but Thy servant shall rejoice.
29 Mine adversaries shall be clothed with confusion, and shall put on their own shame as a robe.
ל אוֹדֶה יְהוָה מְאֹד בְּפִי; וּבְתוֹךְ רַבִּים אֲהַלְלֶנּוּ. 30 I will give great thanks unto the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise Him among the multitude;
לא כִּי-יַעֲמֹד, לִימִין אֶבְיוֹן-- לְהוֹשִׁיעַ, מִשֹּׁפְטֵי נַפְשׁוֹ. 31 Because He standeth at the right hand of the needy, to save him from them that judge his soul. {P}

G-D SPEAKS TO THE "JEWS"

Deuteronomy Chapter 7

א כִּי יְבִיאֲךָ, יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ, אֶל-הָאָרֶץ, אֲשֶׁר-אַתָּה בָא-שָׁמָּה לְרִשְׁתָּהּ; וְנָשַׁל גּוֹיִם-רַבִּים מִפָּנֶיךָ הַחִתִּי וְהַגִּרְגָּשִׁי וְהָאֱמֹרִי וְהַכְּנַעֲנִי וְהַפְּרִזִּי, וְהַחִוִּי וְהַיְבוּסִי--שִׁבְעָה גוֹיִם, רַבִּים וַעֲצוּמִים מִמֶּךָּ. 1 When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and shall cast out many nations before thee, the Hittite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;
ב וּנְתָנָם יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ, לְפָנֶיךָ--וְהִכִּיתָם: הַחֲרֵם תַּחֲרִים אֹתָם, לֹא-תִכְרֹת לָהֶם בְּרִית וְלֹא תְחָנֵּם. 2 and when the LORD thy God shall deliver them up before thee, and thou shalt smite them; then thou shalt utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor show mercy unto them;
3 neither shalt thou make marriages with them: thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.
4 For he will turn away thy son from following Me, that they may serve other gods; so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and He will destroy thee quickly.
5 But thus shall ye deal with them: ye shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and hew down their Asherim, and burn their graven images with fire.
6 For thou art a holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be His own treasure, out of all peoples that are upon the face of the earth.
7 The LORD did not set His love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people--for ye were the fewest of all peoples--
8 but because the LORD loved you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
ט וְיָדַעְתָּ, כִּי-יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ הוּא הָאֱלֹהִים: הָאֵל, הַנֶּאֱמָן--שֹׁמֵר הַבְּרִית וְהַחֶסֶד לְאֹהֲבָיו וּלְשֹׁמְרֵי מִצְו‍ֹתָו, לְאֶלֶף דּוֹר. 9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, He is God; the faithful God, who keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations;
10 and repayeth them that hate Him to their face, to destroy them; He will not be slack to him that hateth Him, He will repay him to his face.
יא וְשָׁמַרְתָּ אֶת-הַמִּצְוָה וְאֶת-הַחֻקִּים וְאֶת-הַמִּשְׁפָּטִים, אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוְּךָ הַיּוֹם--לַעֲשׂוֹתָם. {פ} 11 Thou shalt therefore keep the commandment, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which I command thee this day, to do them. {P}
12 And it shall come to pass, because ye hearken to these ordinances, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep with thee the covenant and the mercy which He swore unto thy fathers,
13 and He will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee; He will also bless the fruit of thy body and the fruit of thy land, thy corn and thy wine and thine oil, the increase of thy kine and the young of thy flock, in the land which He swore unto thy fathers to give thee.
14 Thou shalt be blessed above all peoples; there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.
15 And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness; and He will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee, but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.
טז וְאָכַלְתָּ אֶת-כָּל-הָעַמִּים, אֲשֶׁר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ נֹתֵן לָךְ--לֹא-תָחוֹס עֵינְךָ, עֲלֵיהֶם; וְלֹא תַעֲבֹד אֶת-אֱלֹהֵיהֶם, כִּי-מוֹקֵשׁ הוּא לָךְ. {ס} 16 And thou shalt consume all the peoples that the LORD thy God shall deliver unto thee; thine eye shall not pity them; neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that will be a snare unto thee. {S}
17 If thou shalt say in thy heart: 'These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?'
18 thou shalt not be afraid of them; thou shalt well remember what the LORD thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt:
19 the great trials which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm, whereby the LORD thy God brought thee out; so shall the LORD thy God do unto all the peoples of whom thou art afraid.
20 Moreover the LORD thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and they that hide themselves, perish from before thee.
21 Thou shalt not be affrighted at them; for the LORD thy God is in the midst of thee, a God great and awful.
22 And the LORD thy God will cast out those nations before thee by little and little; thou mayest not consume them quickly, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.
23 But the LORD thy God shall deliver them up before thee, and shall discomfit them with a great discomfiture, until they be destroyed.
24 And He shall deliver their kings into thy hand, and thou shalt make their name to perish from under heaven; there shall no man be able to stand against thee, until thou have destroyed them.
25 The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire; thou shalt not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein; for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.
כו וְלֹא-תָבִיא תוֹעֵבָה אֶל-בֵּיתֶךָ, וְהָיִיתָ חֵרֶם כָּמֹהוּ; שַׁקֵּץ תְּשַׁקְּצֶנּוּ וְתַעֵב תְּתַעֲבֶנּוּ, כִּי-חֵרֶם הוּא. {פ} 26 And thou shalt not bring an abomination into thy house, and be accursed like unto it; thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a devoted thing. {P}

Chinese Financier Sends Nuclear Weapons Materials to Iran

April 13, 2009 | From theTrumpet.com

A sinister scheme to smuggle nuclear weapons materials from China to Iran using American dollars was recently uncovered by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. The Daily News reported the discovery on April 7:

A Chinese financier who peddles nuclear weapons material to Iran was indicted Tuesday for illegally running tens of millions of dollars through a half-dozen New York banks.

Le Fang Wei, 37, duped six unwitting banks with an assortment of aliases and phony businesses despite a federal banking ban against him, Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau said.

The deception allowed Wei and his company to continue banking in U.S. dollars—and to continue selling banned weapons material to the Iranian military, the indictment said.

Wei was charged with conspiracy and falsifying records.

For the moment, Wei remains free in his native country, but the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office plans to ask the Chinese government to extradite him to the United States for trial.

The illegal shipments that Wei’s company—Limmt Economic and Trade Company Ltd—has made to Iran to date include:

  • 33,000 pounds of a specialized aluminum alloy used almost exclusively in long-range missile production.
  • 66,000 pounds of tungsten copper plate, which is used in missile guidance systems.
  • 53,900 pounds of maraging steel rods, a super-hard metal used in uranium enrichment and to make the casings for nuclear bombs.

Last year, German intelligence reports seen by Spiegel revealed that Iranian, North Korean and Syrian scientists were working side by side to build a reactor in Syria capable of producing weapons-grade plutonium before the Israelis bombed it in September 2007. Now a Manhattan District Attorney’s Office report reveals that a Chinese national has been smuggling nuclear weapons materials into Iran since at least 2006.

“This case,” said one law enforcement source close to the Manhattan case, “shows how [the Iranians] are going ahead full-steam to get a nuclear bomb. Long-range missiles they pretty much have already.”

Iran is the king of the Middle East and is committed to destroying Israel and the West. Business contacts in other anti-American nations—such as North Korea and China—are doing all they can to help Iran achieve its goals.

LEVITICUS CHAPTER 26

Leviticus Chapter 26

1 Ye shall make you no idols, neither shall ye rear you up a graven image, or a pillar, neither shall ye place any figured stone in your land, to bow down unto it; for I am the LORD your God.
ב אֶת-שַׁבְּתֹתַי תִּשְׁמֹרוּ, וּמִקְדָּשִׁי תִּירָאוּ: אֲנִי, יְהוָה. {פ} 2 Ye shall keep My sabbaths, and reverence My sanctuary: I am the LORD. {P}
ג אִם-בְּחֻקֹּתַי, תֵּלֵכוּ; וְאֶת-מִצְו‍ֹתַי תִּשְׁמְרוּ, וַעֲשִׂיתֶם אֹתָם. 3 If ye walk in My statutes, and keep My commandments, and do them;
4 then I will give your rains in their season, and the land shall yield her produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
5 And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time; and ye shall eat your bread until ye have enough, and dwell in your land safely.
6 And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid; and I will cause evil beasts to cease out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
7 And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
8 And five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
9 And I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you; and will establish My covenant with you.
10 And ye shall eat old store long kept, and ye shall bring forth the old from before the new.
11 And I will set My tabernacle among you, and My soul shall not abhor you.
12 And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be My people.
יג אֲנִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם, אֲשֶׁר הוֹצֵאתִי אֶתְכֶם מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם, מִהְיֹת לָהֶם, עֲבָדִים; וָאֶשְׁבֹּר מֹטֹת עֻלְּכֶם, וָאוֹלֵךְ אֶתְכֶם קוֹמְמִיּוּת. {פ} 13 I am the LORD your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bars of your yoke, and made you go upright. {P}
יד וְאִם-לֹא תִשְׁמְעוּ, לִי; וְלֹא תַעֲשׂוּ, אֵת כָּל-הַמִּצְו‍ֹת הָאֵלֶּה. 14 But if ye will not hearken unto Me, and will not do all these commandments;
טו וְאִם-בְּחֻקֹּתַי תִּמְאָסוּ, וְאִם אֶת-מִשְׁפָּטַי תִּגְעַל נַפְשְׁכֶם, לְבִלְתִּי עֲשׂוֹת אֶת-כָּל-מִצְו‍ֹתַי, לְהַפְרְכֶם אֶת-בְּרִיתִי. 15 and if ye shall reject My statutes, and if your soul abhor Mine ordinances, so that ye will not do all My commandments, but break My covenant;
16 I also will do this unto you: I will appoint terror over you, even consumption and fever, that shall make the eyes to fail, and the soul to languish; and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.
17 And I will set My face against you, and ye shall be smitten before your enemies; they that hate you shall rule over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.
18 And if ye will not yet for these things hearken unto Me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins.
19 And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass.
20 And your strength shall be spent in vain; for your land shall not yield her produce, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruit.
21 And if ye walk contrary unto Me, and will not hearken unto Me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.
22 And I will send the beast of the field among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your ways shall become desolate.
כג וְאִם-בְּאֵלֶּה--לֹא תִוָּסְרוּ, לִי; וַהֲלַכְתֶּם עִמִּי, קֶרִי. 23 And if in spite of these things ye will not be corrected unto Me, but will walk contrary unto Me;
24 then will I also walk contrary unto you; and I will smite you, even I, seven times for your sins.
25 And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall execute the vengeance of the covenant; and ye shall be gathered together within your cities; and I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.
כו בְּשִׁבְרִי לָכֶם, מַטֵּה-לֶחֶם, וְאָפוּ עֶשֶׂר נָשִׁים לַחְמְכֶם בְּתַנּוּר אֶחָד, וְהֵשִׁיבוּ לַחְמְכֶם בַּמִּשְׁקָל; וַאֲכַלְתֶּם, וְלֹא תִשְׂבָּעוּ. {ס} 26 When I break your staff of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver your bread again by weight; and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied. {S}
כז וְאִם-בְּזֹאת--לֹא תִשְׁמְעוּ, לִי; וַהֲלַכְתֶּם עִמִּי, בְּקֶרִי. 27 And if ye will not for all this hearken unto Me, but walk contrary unto Me;
28 then I will walk contrary unto you in fury; and I also will chastise you seven times for your sins.
29 And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.
30 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your sun-pillars, and cast your carcasses upon the carcasses of your idols; and My soul shall abhor you.
31 And I will make your cities a waste, and will bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours.
32 And I will bring the land into desolation; and your enemies that dwell therein shall be astonished at it.
33 And you will I scatter among the nations, and I will draw out the sword after you; and your land shall be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.
34 Then shall the land be paid her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye are in your enemies' land; even then shall the land rest, and repay her sabbaths.
35 As long as it lieth desolate it shall have rest; even the rest which it had not in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.
36 And as for them that are left of you, I will send a faintness into their heart in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a driven leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as one fleeth from the sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.
37 And they shall stumble one upon another, as it were before the sword, when none pursueth; and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.
38 And ye shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.
39 And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.
40 And they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their treachery which they committed against Me, and also that they have walked contrary unto Me.
מא אַף-אֲנִי, אֵלֵךְ עִמָּם בְּקֶרִי, וְהֵבֵאתִי אֹתָם, בְּאֶרֶץ אֹיְבֵיהֶם; אוֹ-אָז יִכָּנַע, לְבָבָם הֶעָרֵל, וְאָז, יִרְצוּ אֶת-עֲו‍ֹנָם. 41 I also will walk contrary unto them, and bring them into the land of their enemies; if then perchance their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and they then be paid the punishment of their iniquity;
42 then will I remember My covenant with Jacob, and also My covenant with Isaac, and also My covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.
43 For the land shall lie forsaken without them, and shall be paid her sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them; and they shall be paid the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because they rejected Mine ordinances, and their soul abhorred My statutes.
44 And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break My covenant with them; for I am the LORD their God.

AFGHANISTAN - ANOTHER "NAM"

U.S. to Europe: Please, Join Our Losing Cause

April 8, 2009 | From theTrumpet.com

Signs of looming failure in the Afghanistan war

Even as Barack Obama signals his commitment to victory in Afghanistan, serious warning signs of failure loom.

At the nato summit last week, the president summoned every possible ounce of charm and influence to cajole members of the alliance into joining him in assigning troops to Afghanistan. They glad-handed and smiled—and utterly refused.

President Obama said America would swell its force there by 21,000 troops. (His generals are asking for as many as 10,000 more than that.) Belgium responded by offering all of 35 military trainers. Spain offered a paltry 12. Gordon Brown said the UK would send 500 to 700 troops as a “temporary uplift”—meaning that they’ll return home after elections take place in a mere four months.

(The nature of nato is becoming clear: It’s a forum for Europe to exploit America. When Europe needs U.S. muscle—as in the Balkans war—America steps up and provides it. When America asks Europe to help fight al Qaeda and the Taliban, Europe says it has other obligations.)

But the fact that America looks increasingly isolated in trying to bring the Taliban to heel is just a sliver of the problem.

The strategy America intends to use is deeply flawed. Unveiled by the president on March 27, it focuses on encouraging Afghanistan and Pakistan to assume more of the burden of neutralizing Islamists. It commits 4,000 troops to train an Afghan military force, and $1.5 billion per year for five years to Pakistan to help it fight the Taliban.

But Afghanistan and Pakistan are unreliable allies. Taliban infiltration and sympathy run deep in both nations.

The process of training Afghan military and police forces will provide the opportunity for hostile elements to infiltrate those forces. As Stratfor reported March 30, if America recruits an all-Afghan force, it is likely to attract many Taliban sympathizers. But if it restricts its recruiting only to ethnic groups that are hostile to the Taliban, it is drawing from “a minority pool that the Taliban already defeated in a civil war.” Therefore, Stratfor wrote, “the key question is how reliable the force will be if you go for an inclusive force, or how capable it is of functioning without you if you do not.”

Even then, Obama’s goal is to train just 54,000 new Afghan soldiers and police officers in 33 months. It’s not enough. The U.S. military estimates a force of 400,000 would be needed to secure the country.

As for Pakistan, the predicament is even worse. While Islamabad will no doubt happily accept the billions in aid, Washington is unlikely to get the cooperation it needs from a country whose military and security forces are in cahoots with the Taliban. This same strategy has failed for the past seven years.

The Pakistani military actually formed the Taliban in the 1990s. The alliance between these two entities is simple and strong. Pakistan uses the Taliban as a tool both to keep the West off balance and to ensure that, once the U.S. vacates Afghanistan (which it is sure to do eventually), India won’t move in. Meanwhile, the Taliban thrives on Pakistani support and protection that enables it to control a growing swath of territory in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Nothing in the U.S. plan is going to split this alliance. Evidence shows that in preparation for the U.S. troop surge, it is actually strengthening.

The New York Times recently reported how Pakistan’s military intelligence agency is actually giving funding, military supplies and other help to Taliban fighters who are attacking U.S. and nato forces in Afghanistan. And Pakistani authorities just cut two deals with the Taliban, called “sharia for peace.” The Taliban now has official authority to enforce Islamic law in a huge chunk of Pakistan’s North-West Frontier Province. (This is only acknowledging reality: The Taliban already rules there. To take one example, last December in the Swat Valley district it banned girls from being educated and bombed several schools that refused to comply.)

“The reemergence of the Pakistan-Taliban alliance at this time may be linked to the advent of the Obama administration and to the changing strategic situation in the Pakistan-Afghanistan region,” memri wrote. “Realizing that Obama means to step up the U.S. campaign against the Taliban and al Qaeda in Afghanistan and in Pakistan, the Pakistani military has recalibrated its strategic position and brought the Taliban into its fold, to serve as its proxy in a confrontation with the U.S. forces” (April 1).

“No one in Islamabad believes the United States and nato are prepared to stay for five more years, let alone the 10 or more years it would take to transform Afghanistan into a viable democracy,” explained Arnaud de Borchgrave. “Pakistan’s military leaders feel more comfortable with a Taliban-run Afghanistan than with the current crop of moderate leaders who are closer to New Delhi than to Islamabad” (Newsmax, March 31).

This from the “ally” Washington hopes to court in fighting the Taliban.

In the long run, Western powers are hoping that a neutral, al-Qaeda-free Afghanistan can be guaranteed not by America and nato, but by its primary neighbors: Pakistan, Iran and even China. This is not really a plan. It is a fantasy perched on a dream within an illusion.

Michael Yon, writing for the Washington Times, says that just like the previous administration, “Mr. Obama is trying to win the AfPak war on the cheap while minimizing political risks.” He concludes: “Unless we speed up progress in AfPak, we are on the road to a slow, painful failure. If we are going to fight with half-measures, we should pull stakes and come home. Despite the backslapping going around, with Pakistan ready to lap up billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars while corrupt Afghan officials are excited to see more billions flying in their direction, the pungent reality is that the latest ‘plan’ is a plan to fail.”

The lack of leadership and national will that Yon alludes to are symptoms of the true reason Washington is in this predicament. That reason is outlined in detail in Herbert W. Armstrong’s book The United States and Britain in Prophecy. Request your own free copy to get a true perspective on America’s current foreign-policy challenges—and to preview the outcome.

In this book, originally written in 1967, Mr. Armstrong foretold the end of the conflict in Afghanistan. “Today America finds herself heir to just about all the international problems and headaches in this post-World War ii, chaotic, violent world,” he wrote. “And the United States has won her last war …. Many other nations sap America’s national strength, ‘and he knoweth it not,’ as God long ago foretold!” (emphasis mine). Mr. Armstrong based his forecast on a collection of stunning biblical prophecies that show America being besieged by curses in our day, including humiliating military defeat.

Don’t be fooled by talk—not even by a troop surge. The warning signs of America’s failure in Afghanistan are clear—just as the Bible said.

"GERMANY"

The German Nightmare Has Returned!

April 6, 2009 | From theTrumpet.com

Have we forgotten Germany’s history? By Gerald Flurry

At the end of World War ii, when Germany was beaten into rubble, Herbert W. Armstrong prophesied of Germany’s rise to great power again. And it has already happened. What is more astounding, he even predicted how it would happen!

Twenty-five years ago, Mr. Armstrong predicted that America and the world would have a massive banking crisis. But the second part of that prediction was even more stunning. He believed the banking crisis would cause 10 kings to unite into superpower status and fulfill a major end-time Bible prophecy. And it is all being fulfilled before our eyes today.

Here is what Mr. Armstrong said July 7, 1984, in a message to his church (emphasis mine throughout):

[I]n London, the economic conference was on while we were there. That is the summit conference of the major powers. And I can tell you now that I learned things while in London that have alarmed me very greatly. And I can see now the event that is going to trigger the formation of the reunification in Europe, the resurrection of the medieval Holy Roman Empire that we’ve been looking forward to that is prophesied to come.

Something has been holding it back. And, a year ago, when Dr. Otto von Habsburg [of the Habsburg dynasty—past rulers of the Holy Roman Empire] was here, he had come over here to see me …. He couldn’t understand why they aren’t able to get this unification through sooner.

Something is causing it to lag and to hold it up. I said to him, “I’ve been wondering about the same thing.” But I believe that some event is going to happen suddenly, just like out of a blue sky, that is going to shock the whole world, and is going to cause the nations in Europe to realize they must unite! [They have deep divisions in the union today that are beginning to be removed.]

Well, he said that he believes that will have to happen too. Well, now I think I can see what may be the very event that is going to trigger it, and that is the economic situation in the world.

Here is another statement Mr. Armstrong made: “Now let me go further. The whole banking structure in the United States is a network all joined together. But not only that, one nation has to deal with other nations and imports and exports. And so they have to have a means of transferring money from one nation to another. And so the banking structure is international and interwoven.”

He also said that “the banking system has become very complex.” The people don’t have much understanding of what is happening, so unscrupulous leaders are free to manipulate major financial decisions to their own devious ends.

But what is even more disturbing, many of our leaders don’t understand the banking system themselves! For example, none of our U.S. government officials saw this crisis coming. Or if they did, none of them spoke out.

However, Mr. Armstrong saw the banking crisis coming 25 years ago. And how did he know that the financial crisis would probably trigger 10 European kings to profoundly unite into a world superpower? That is truly astounding!

He even predicted this European empire would be more powerful than the U.S. or Russia!

Mr. Armstrong had a profound understanding of the Bible. He also had a far-reaching knowledge of world conditions. Therefore, he could make some bold predictions based on foundational Bible prophecies.

It is time this world woke up to what is happening in Europe. The Stratfor organization does have a good insight into what is happening in the European Union. Here is what it published, March 6:

[W]hile Germany faces the same pressures and pains as many other states in dealing with the global recession, it is not in the same boat as the rest. In fact, the recession is providing a wealth of opportunities for Berlin to expand its influence. …

Put simply, the Germans face more opportunities than threats from the global recession. …

Berlin’s resistance toward sweeping EU economic bailout plans can be summarized in two simple and interrelated arguments. First, Germany does not want to foot the bill for Europe’s recovery. … Second, Germany wants to control any economic package, making it much more comfortable with bilateral deals reached on a case-by-case basis rather than [with an] EU effort in which German control of the bailout would only be loosely correlated (if at all) with its economic contributions. …

Rather than pushing for transnational stimulus or bailouts, Germany is forcing the European Union into a common position on financial regulation. [That means that many of the 27 nations will be forced out of the EU.] …

Germany is attempting to extend its own financial system, writ large, over all of Europe. …

Germany is also in a geographic and trade position to dominate whatever emerges from the wreckage of this recession. … In post-recession Europe, in which the Germans have rewritten the rules of finance, these states will be utterly dependent upon the Germans for their livelihood.

Which brings us back to the beginning: To achieve security for itself, Germany either must defeat its neighbors or become indispensable to them. Nazi Germany failed at the first. But with this recession, Germany is on the verge of becoming the indispensable player geographically, financially and economically. It may not be acquiring lebensraum [living room] in the strict sense, but to Germany’s neighbors, Berlin’s gains are going to feel disturbingly close.

Stratfor is disturbed that “the Germans have rewritten the rules of finance” in such a way that “these states will be utterly dependent on the Germans for their livelihood.” Nazi Germany failed to defeat Europe for its “security.” But now Germany has become the “indispensable player” to the nations of the revived Holy Roman Empire—which has been the opposite of holy throughout history!

Germany started a war with France in 1870. It also started World Wars i and ii! This nation has a terrifying history of causing wars.

Have we forgotten? Do we even remember what America and Britain declared after World War ii?

“It is our inflexible purpose to destroy German militarism and Nazism and to ensure that Germany will never again be able to disturb the peace of the world,” Winston Churchill wrote in a signed document with Franklin Roosevelt.

The world may have forgotten, but we did not. What is happening in Europe now is what we have been prophesying for over 60 years! Request our free booklet Germany and the Holy Roman Empire. All of our literature is free.

If the Germans were really repentant for causing so many of our past wars, they would not dare make other European nations utterly dependent upon them for their livelihood.

Stratfor’s report gets even worse: “The solution—or mitigation—to the problem is for Germany to develop and maintain a strong economy not simply for national unification, but also to develop economic links with its immediate neighbors. In theory, if the neighbors see their economic links to Germany as indispensable, they will be more likely to view military issues from the German viewpoint.

How the Germans are dealing with the economic crisis is far from democratic!

If people know and understand the history of Germany, they surely must be suffering from some anxiety. Now the military has been added to the equation. German armies are getting ready to march once again. They are about to inflict the worst suffering ever on much of this world!

The European Union is being pared down from 27 loosely affiliated nations to 10, so that Germany and a great religion of this world can totally control it. And in this process, a strong leader is about to hijack the EU as prophesied in the 8th chapter of Daniel.

This is the greatest event coming out of the global financial crisis. Before it’s over, the world will be reeling from its impact!

“Everyone is turning to Germany as the ultimate savior of the European economy,” Reuters columnist Paul Taylor wrote February 25. These are extremely alarming words!

European nations fear economic collapse. Now they are looking to Germany as their financial savior. But they are going to get a lot more than a financial savior!

This is the biggest news event in the world right now. But it is almost totally overlooked by the world’s news media.

Germany’s “change of heart” toward rescuing EU states, Taylor wrote, “reflects a shift in the balance of power in the EU that puts Germany in the driver’s seat.”

Germany’s Spiegel Online stated that “Germany’s apparent willingness to support its neighbors reflects a change in direction for the leadership. Until now, Germany … has been reluctant to offer to help pay for what it sees as other countries’ lack of discipline in national spending. As a result, it is expected that extensive strings will be attached to any assistance offered, a point made clear by president of Germany’s Bundesbank, Axel Weber. Speaking to German daily Die Welt, he said ‘targeted aid for individual member states’ may be ‘unavoidable’ but any such moves would have to be accompanied with ‘strict demands and conditions’” (February 27).

Those nations that can’t or won’t comply will be kicked out of the European Union! The foundation of the 10 kings of Revelation 17 is now being laid.

Perhaps the biggest shocker of all is that God is putting it in these nations’ minds to unite and fulfill His will (Revelation 17:17).

Why would God miraculously do such a thing? Nothing is more important for you to understand! Our literature will make it painfully clear to you.

The German Election

You need to watch the September 27 election this year in Germany. It could very well produce the political leader of the Holy Roman Empire—and through devious means. The Bible prophesies that this man will come to power with deceit and flatteries.

The collapse of the dollar has frightened Europe and especially Germany. It has provided Germany with an opportunity to take control.

The International Herald Tribune reported February 26:

The global financial crisis threatens to strike Germany—and the rest of the European Union—with hurricane-like force in the next three to six months.

As the world’s leading exporter [Germany is back with real power] and Europe’s primary economic engine, Germany is already enduring its worst recession since 1990. And as world trade shrinks and layoffs mount, Germany’s downward spiral could further fragment the 27-nation EU [that is, reduce the number of nations or leaders to 10]. …

A tectonic political shift is likely to occur with the September 27 national elections. The governing grand coalition, linking Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democrats with the left-of-center Social Democrats, now seems doomed despite its 75 percent majority in the parliament.

With EU institutions in limbo, the economy under growing pressure and the entire country riveted by the September national elections, Germany seems likely to enter a phase of protracted inward focus. …

[It] is shaping up to be a perilous year for Europe and the world.

Are you prepared for a perilous 2009? Our literature will show you how to be totally prepared.

It is staggering that Mr. Armstrong could make such a prediction 25 years ago. However, it is less amazing if you understand Bible prophecy. (Also request our booklet Daniel—Unsealed at Last!)

There is a lot of bad news in what I have just written. But there is a mind-galvanizing, hope-filled conclusion: It is all tied directly to the coming of the Messiah!

That may sound foolish to many people. But it is clearly stated and can be proved in more than a hundred prophecies of the Holy Bible.

If you have been a reader of our magazine for some time, you know it is time to act—and act today! Time is running out!
