TWO CARRIERS IN "PERSIAN GULF"

U.S. bringing second carrier to Mideast for first time since Iraq invasion

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates: The deployment of the USS John C. Stennis to the Middle East will put two U.S. aircraft carriers in the volatile Gulf region for the first time since the 2003 Iraq invasion. Military officials say a second carrier group is meant as a plain warning to Iran.

The U.S. military's show of strength comes in response to Iran's recent anti-U.S. agitation in the oil-rich Persian Gulf. U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Monday that Iran and other U.S. adversaries believe the United States has become vulnerable in Iraq.

"This demonstrates our resolve to do what we can to bring security and stability to the region," Cmdr. Kevin Aandahl of the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain said on Tuesday.

Aandahl said the Stennis carrier strike group of eight ships and nine air squadrons would arrive in Mideast waters in a matter of weeks, after crossing the Pacific and Indian oceans.

U.S. diplomats including Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice have been touring the region to shore up American credibility. The United States' Arab allies have grown dismayed over Iraq's chaos, while a resurgent Iran is supporting militants across the region.

"Rice is promising the U.S. will stand firm against Iran. But without a show of force, without backing these words with muscle, no one will take the U.S. seriously, whether in Tehran or any Arab capital," said Mustafa Alani, a military analyst with the Dubai-based Gulf Research Center. "Now is the time. They have to stand or shut up."

The Stennis strike group, which was previously in line to deploy to the Pacific, will augment another Navy task force in Mideast waters led by aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, Aandahl said.

A second U.S. carrier will significantly boost U.S. air power in the region and serve as a reminder of U.S. firepower to Iran. Its arrival will give the Pentagon two carriers in the region for the first time since 2003, Aandahl said.

The USS John C. Stennis was scheduled to depart Tuesday from its homeport of Bremerton, Washington, stopping in San Diego to pick an air wing of more than 80 planes, including F/A-18 Hornet and Superhornet fighter-bombers, the Navy said.

The Stennis could also shore up air cover for U.S. and NATO ground troops in Afghanistan, now relying on about 20 ground-based warplanes after the Eisenhower was sent to the Somali coast.

The Pentagon is also sending an additional Patriot anti-missile battalion to a U.S. allied Gulf Arab country, as well as 21,500 more U.S. troops to Iraq.

Two Royal Navy mine sweepers were dispatched to the Gulf on Dec. 19, Britain's Ministry of Defense said Tuesday. The HMS Blyth and HMS Ramsey, which carry a complement of 34 sailors each, is engaged in training exercises and will be for the next two years, a military spokesman said, on condition of anonymity in line with government policy.

"Obviously their presence in the Gulf will contribute to regional stability," the spokesman said. "But this is a training mission, they have not been sent to counter any specific threat."

Two Royal Navy mine sweepers were dispatched to the Gulf on Dec. 19 and had arrived several weeks ago, Britain's Ministry of Defense said Tuesday.

The HMS Blyth and HMS Ramsey, which carry a 34 sailors each, is engaged in training exercises and will be for the next two years, a military spokesman said, on condition of anonymity in line with government policy.

"Obviously their presence in the Gulf will contribute to regional stability," the spokesman said. "But this is a training mission, they have not been sent to counter any specific threat."

In Brussels on Monday, Gates indicated that Iran's perception of U.S. vulnerability in the region was part of the reason the Pentagon sent the Stennis and the Patriot missiles.

"The Iranians clearly believe that we are tied down in Iraq, that they have the initiative, that they are able to press us in many ways," Gates said.

Patriots defend against short-range missiles of the type that Iran could use to hit U.S. bases in the Gulf. The Pentagon has not said exactly where the Patriots will be based.

The escalating American combat power doesn't mean Washington is bent on a showdown with Tehran, Alani said. But the preparations could foretell tough U.S. action against Iranian-backed militias in Iraq, with Washington preparing for retaliation elsewhere.

"They're not trying to pick a fight" with Iran, Alani said. "But if Iran makes any mistakes, the U.S. will deal with them."

"OLMERT" THE TRAITOR

Olmert Willing to Give up the Golan Heights

April 25, 2008 | From theTrumpet.com

The Olmert administration has put yet another vital piece of Israel on the negotiating table.

Concessions and rumors of concessions constantly abound in Israel. The most recent rumor of concession in the Israeli-Arab world is that Israel has agreed to give up the Golan Heights to Syria in return for peace.

The Jerusalem Post reported on Thursday:

Syrian President Bashar Assad confirmed reports in the Arab media to the effect that Israel had agreed to relinquish the Golan Heights in exchange for peace with Syria. In an interview with the Qatari daily Al Watan

The Syrian leader also claimed that Israel and Syria have been exchanging messages since the end of the Second Lebanon War, adding that the negotiation track has heated up since Turkey became involved about a year ago. …

“Olmert told the Turkish prime minister that he was willing to retreat from the Golan,” Assad said, claiming that Olmert’s willingness to cede the plateau was reiterated in interviews he gave before Pessah. “We have heard a statement by Olmert in which he said: ‘We know what Syria wants and they know what we want.’” the Syrian president claimed that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan had informed him that Olmert had agreed to cede the Golan for peace.

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem has stated that Syria is willing to enter into land-for-peace negotiations with Israel provided that these negotiations would not negatively impact the current negotiations being conducted between Israel and the Palestinians.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s spokesman has not denied the report that the Israeli prime minister is willing to hand over the Golan.

The Knesset House Committee immediately convened an emergency session for the purpose of pushing through a bill that would require a national referendum to be held before any such concession could be made to the Syrians.

“We have to prevent political theft that would result in surrendering the Golan,” said House Committee Chairman David Tal. “Withdrawing from the Golan would result in Hezbollah terrorists entering the area and embittering the lives of the residents of northern Israel.”

Polls show the majority of Israelis, possibly as high as 80 percent, are against ceding the Golan Heights. The Olmert administration is conducting negotiations to cede the West Bank, parts of Jerusalem, and now the Golan Heights to Arab forces. The people of Israel and leaders like Benjamin Netanyahu are unlikely to stand idly by while this occurs. Yet if the Israeli people refuse to let their country be given away piecemeal, the Arabs are likely to retaliate in force and take the land they want by violence.

The Middle East is in crisis seemingly without solution. Yet a solution does exist. To find out what that solution is, read Jerusalem in Prophecy by Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry.

Olmert, Ehud Is this acting Israeli Prime Minister pussy-whipped by his dominatrix wife, Aliza? We think so! In a speech last summer [2005] to a dovish American group, the Israel Policy Forum, Olmert claimed that Israelis long for peace because
"we are tired of fighting, we are tired of being courageous, we are tired of winning, we are tired of defeating our enemies." This defeatist rhetoric reflects his leftist conversion... or, more specifically, his wife and daughter's. His Aliza wife is a supporter of the left-wing Meretz party and has taken part in numerous Peace Now demonstrations. One of his five children, a daughter, is an outspoken lesbian and active in Machsom Watch, a pain-in-the-ass group monitoring Israeli checkpoints in the territories. One of his sons is a deserter from the Israeli Army and is a member of the extreme leftist group called Yesh Gvul. Another son never bothered to serve in the Israeli Army and has already resides abroad. If Ehud Elmert cannot even stand up to his wife and children, how could he possibly stand up to Hamas! Now this here is some fantastic Zionist household!!!

"RUSSIA" - STILL A WORLD POWER

Russian bombers patrol over Atlantic Ocean

17:02 | 23/ 04/ 2008

MOSCOW, April 23 (RIA Novosti) - Two Russian Tu-95 Bear strategic bombers and two Il-78 aerial tankers are carrying out routine patrols over neutral Atlantic waters, a Russian Air Force spokesman said on Wednesday.

Interceptions of Russian combat aircraft by NATO fighters are becoming a common occurrence again, after Russia resumed strategic bomber patrol flights over the Pacific, Atlantic, and Arctic oceans last August, following an order signed by President Vladimir Putin

"During the flights the crews develop their flying skills in northern latitudes, over unmarked terrain," Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky said.

He said the crews also perfect their in-flight refueling techniques, allowing the bombers to remain in the air for more than 24 hours and is considered extremely difficult "especially when the Russian planes are accompanied by NATO interceptors."

"All Russian Air Force flights are performed...in strict accordance with international rules on the use of airspace over neutral waters without violating the borders of other states," he also said.

Although it was common practice during the Cold War for both the U.S. and the Soviet Union to keep nuclear strategic bombers permanently airborne, the Kremlin cut long-range patrols in 1992. The decision came as a result of the collapse of the Soviet Union, and the ensuing economic and political chaos.

However, the newly-resurgent Russia, awash with petrodollars, has invested heavily in military technology, and the resumption of long-range patrols is widely seen among political commentators as another sign of its drive to assert itself both militarily and politically.

FOOD RATIONING COMES TO AMERICA

Food Rationing Stuns Customers Across U.S.

April 22, 2008 | From theTrumpet.com

Once renowned for amber waves of grain, the world’s breadbasket is now facing the unthinkable: food rationing.

Stores across the nation are implementing a measure unprecedented in recent times: food rations.

The New York Sun reported Monday:

Major retailers in New York, in areas of New England, and on the West Coast are limiting purchases of flour, rice and cooking oil as demand outstrips supply. There are also anecdotal reports that some consumers are hoarding grain stocks.

At Costco stores across America, store managers have said no to shoppers wanting to purchase more than their allotted amount for certain food stuffs. “Due to the limited availability of rice, we are limiting purchases based on your prior purchasing history,” read one sign in a store in Mountain View, California. In Queens, New York, quotas are being imposed on oil and flour purchases.

For over 12 years the Trumpet has predicted that food shortages would eventually grip the United States; now, they have arrived. As Joel Hilliker stated in his column last week, “It’s easy to click away or change the channel when you’ve got plenty to eat yourself. But America is hardly invulnerable.”

Author Monica Davis also warned of the susceptibility of U.S. food supplies to shortages in the present market: “Even the United States is not immune from the potential for food shortages, food riots and food insecurity. We are just blind to the possibility.”

Government figures show that stockpiles of wheat in the U.S. have hit a 60-year low just as prices have soared. Davis also points out that “[a]lmost all other commodities, from rice and soybeans to sugar and corn, have posted triple-digit price increases in the past year or two.”

Causing much of the rise in food prices is the hike in oil prices. As oil prices increase, the demand for biofuel becomes a more attractive alternative, thus diverting many food staples, especially corn and soybeans, from the food chain. As corn is redirected to fuel production, demand for other food staples, such as rice and wheat, increases as well. This results in a food shortage across the board, as we are witnessing today.

Soon, it may not be just the pocketbook that is hurt by the food shortages, but the bellies of Americans as well, if food stops reaching the shelf. For more information on the root cause of the developing U.S. food crisis, read “When the Food Runs Out.”

US arrests American army engineer on charge of spying for Israel in the 1980s

April 22, 2008, 7:37 PM (GMT+02:00)

DEBKAfile’s Washington sources report the charge is serious enough to affect President George W. Bush’s plan to attend Israel’s 60th anniversary celebrations next month. Connecticut-born Ben-Ami Kadish, now 84, is accused of giving an Israeli consulate employee classified documents about nuclear weapons, an F-15 fighter jet and the US Patriot system in the 1980s.

The US justice department describes Kadish's Israeli handler as the same man who handled convicted spy Jonathan Pollard. This handler, identified only as “co-conspirator 1” left the US after Pollard’s exposure but stayed in touch with him until March of this year. Israeli cabinet minister Raffi Eytan, known as Pollard’s handler, said he had no idea of what this was about.

One of the four counts against Kadish is of participating in a conspiracy to disclose documents related to national defense in the years 1979-1985

The criminal complaint says Kadish took home classified documents from the US Army’s Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center in Dover New Jersey, where he was employed. The Israeli government employee then photographed them in Kadish’s basement, says the charge.

DEBKAfile’s sources note that the suspect must have retired at least 18 years ago and is no longer active in secret defense projects. They ask therefore what was the point of his Israeli handler staying in touch with him up until now?

"NETANYAHU & BUSH

Israel's Netanyahu Claims President Bush Promised Unilateral Nuclear Bomb Attack Against Iran

Global Research, April 20, 2008

We'll nuke Iran - Bush promises Israel

Thu, 01/10/2008 - 16:08 - Wire Services - US President George W. Bush promised Israel's opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu that the United States will join the Jewish state in a nuclear strike against Iran, Israel Radio reported today.

Former Prime Minister Netanyahu, opposition Likud party's hardline chairman who opposes the US-backed Annapolis peace process, reiterated to President Bush his stance, that a pre-emptive nuclear strike against Iran's nuclear installations was the only way to stop the Islamic nation's nuclear weapons ambitions.

"I told him my position and Bush agreed," Netanyahu told Israel Radio.

During their 45-minute meeting at King David hotel in Jerusalem Netanyahu also told Bush that "Jerusalem belongs to the Jewish people and will remain under Israeli sovereignty for eternity."

President Bush issued a stark warning to Iran over Strait of Hormuz incident, saying that "all options are on the table to protect our assets."

“There will be serious consequences if they attack our ships, pure and simple,” Bush said during the joint news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in Jerusalem. “And my advice to them is, don't do it.”

Bush criticized those who interpret the National Intelligence Estimate, which found that Iran gave up its nuclear weapons program in 2003, as a sign that Iran was no longer a threat.

"Let me remind you what the NIE actually said," Bush stold reporters. "It said that as far as the intelligence community could tell, at one time the Iranians had a military -- covert military program that was suspended in 2003 because of international pressure. My attitude is that a non-transparent country, a country which has yet to disclose what it was up to, can easily restart a program."

"JIMMY CARTER" - PEANUT FARMER - JEW HATER

Jimmy Carter's excellent adventure: so many terrorists, so little time

By Israel Insider staff April 18, 2008

Jimmy Carter and his wife lay a wreath on the tomb of proto-terrorist Yasser Arafat
It was everything a Palestinian terrorist could hope for: a wreath laid on Arafat's tomb, wet kisses from a former US, and a high profile meeting with leaders of Hamas that flew in the face of US and European policy. But that didn't faze Jimmy Carter, who relished the controversy, enjoyed the rough-cheeked nuzzles, and gave the top terrorist organizations the dubious legitimacy of a president who has joined the actively anti-Israel club.

The Israeli and U.S. governments condemned former President Carter's meetings this week with top officials of Hamas, which they consider to be a terrorist organization. His controversial tour of terror bigwigs included a meeting Thursday in Cairo with two senior Hamas politicians, and with the top Hamas politician, exiled leader Khalid Meshaal, on Friday in Damascus, Syria.

Carter laid a wreath of red roses at the grave of Palestinian Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat during a visit to the West Bank City of Ramallah on Tuesday.

"He and Mrs. Carter and his son Jeff wanted to pay their respects to President Arafat," Carter's trip director Rick Jasculca told Cybercast News Service. But the former president didn't make any comments there, he said.

Most Israeli officials refused to meet Carter during his prior visit to the Jewish state, furious over his defiance of State Department policy in meeting with a terror organization responsible for hundreds of Israeli deaths, by his insistence that Israel should talk to Hamas and his explicit comparisons of Israeli policy with South African apartheid.

U.S. and Israeli officials doubt Carter's talks with Hamas will achieve anything except muddy efforts to isolate the Hamas terror organization, which has made no secret of its ultimate goal of eliminating Israel, and its continued support for suicide bombing, cross-border infiltrations and rocket attacks, especially from its Gaza base.

"We think it is not useful for people to be running to Hamas at this point and having meetings with Hamas," U.S. national security adviser Stephen Hadley said.

Even left-wing Israelis insist that talks with Hamas won't bring peace in the Middle East conflict. Carter had to endure a dressing-down by Shimon Peres, himself a Nobel Peace Prize winner, dubiously shared with Yasser Arafat and Yitzhak Rabin. Peres told Carter in no uncertain terms that meeting the leaders of the terror group "damages" the chance of peace and was "a big mistake."

"Hamas is conducting war against the citizens of Israel," said Ron Prosor, Israel's ambassador to Britain, and a left-of-center politician who worked with Peres. "What do you say to people who say, 'Why don't you talk, try and talk, and not to shoot'? It sounds very good but the question is, at what stage do you do that?"

Right-wing Israelis were less charitable. An aide to Netanyahu explained that his boss's unwillingness to meet with Carter "stems from [his] anti-Israel views over the past few years." Others suggested that the 85 year old President was a doddering publicity-hound who didn't know any better and would do anything that would blacken Israel's name. Israel did not extent security protection to Carter during his visit to the country.

While Carter called "despicable" Palestinian rockets attacks on Israeli civilians, he had even harsher words for Israeli attempts to deter and retaliate for those attacks. "It's an atrocity what is being perpetrated as punishment on the people in Gaza. It's a crime ... I think it is an abomination that this continues to go on," he said.

ISRAELI SUBMARINES

Could Israel use submarines against Iran?

Posted 8:04 am EDT

— Anticipating a showdown with Iran, Israel decides secretly to deploy a submarine off its arch-foe's coast.

But how? The quickest route from Israel's Mediterranean coast is via the Suez Canal, which runs through Egypt and which the classified vessels shun. So the submarine is hidden in the belly of a commercial tanker, which delivers it to the Gulf.

Such is the plot of an Israeli thriller, "Undersea Diplomacy." Does it hold water? Perhaps not. Then again, the author, Shlomo Erell, is no mere novelist. He's an ex-admiral with experience in Israel's most sensitive military planning.

"It's pure fiction, but it's informed fiction," he said simply, when asked if his book reflects how the Israeli fleet of Dolphin-class submarines could be used against Iran, whose leadership has called for Israel to be "wiped off the map," stoking international concern over Tehran's nuclear programme.

Israel has three Dolphins, with two more on order from Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft, a German shipyard custom-building them at a steep discount as part of Berlin's bid to shore up a Jewish state founded in the wake of the Nazi Holocaust.

The submarines are a subject of deepest secrecy given speculation that they carry nuclear-tipped cruise missiles.

Many analysts believe the Dolphins are Israel's "second strike" weapons, referring to the Cold War theory that a country can deter foes from launching nuclear attacks by maintaining the ability to retaliate, even after its own territory has been laid waste. A nuclear "platform" out at sea is the best guarantee.

Iran denies seeking nuclear weapons, and independent experts say it is years away from any such capability. Some, in turn, think Israel's expanding submarine fleet may be part of preparations to foil the perceived future threat through force.

"There is nothing on the horizon to suggest Iran would have the capability to knock out Israel's nuclear delivery means," said Sam Gardiner, a retired U.S. air force colonel who stages Middle East war games for U.S. government and private clients.

The Dolphins, he said, may be part of "a conventional capability to deal with the number of targets Israel believes would need to be struck in a conventional preemptive attack."

DISTANCE NO OBJECT?

Israel sent jets to bomb Iraq's nuclear reactor in 1981 and has hinted it could do the same against Iranian facilities if U.S.-led diplomatic pressure failed to rein in Tehran's plans.

But the Iraqi raid was on a single site, relatively close to Israel's borders. Targets in Iran might be too numerous and distant for Israel's air force, especially as intermediate Arab states or Turkey would likely refuse overflight rights.

Israel is assumed to have ballistic missiles, yet its small size may make surprise launches impossible: an unannounced missile test in January became news within minutes as the startled residents of nearby towns reported the roaring takeoff.

Submarines could bridge the gap, especially if positioned in Iranian waters. That possibility has given rise to speculation that Israel wants five Dolphins in order to allow for at least one to be at sea at all times while others are being serviced.

The question remains of how far they might travel.

Israeli navy sources say the Dolphins do not use the Suez -- to avoid being inspected by Egyptian harbormasters. That means that, to reach the Gulf, Israel would either have to resort to fantastical ruses like the one in "Undersea Diplomacy," or send the submarines around Africa -- a month-long trip at least.

Jason Alderwick, a maritime analyst with the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London, is skeptical.

"I don't buy the idea of a rotation. These submarines have not been purchased with a view to operating in the Gulf," he said. As Dolphins run on conventional rather than nuclear power so require regular refueling and shore maintenance, he described them as better suited to close Mediterranean missions.

Israel also has access to the Red Sea through Eilat port. But navy sources said there was no plan to dock submarines there because the narrow Red Sea, which is shared with several Arab states, is vulnerable to blockades at the Straits of Tiran.

DETERRENTS NEVER USED

Restricted to the Mediterranean, analysts point out, the Israeli Dolphins could pose a "second-strike" threat to Iran only if they carried nuclear cruise missiles capable of hitting targets as far as 1,500 km (970 miles) away.

Lee Willett of the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies noted that Dolphins lacked the vertical tubes used by much bigger Western and Soviet-era submarines to launch ballistic missiles.

Cold War tests showed nuclear warheads are too heavy to be delivered long distances on cruise missiles, so Israel could hit Iran only with conventional warheads if they were fired from the Mediterranean, he said.

A nuclear attack on Iran by a Dolphin, Willett argued, would have to be from the Gulf, which in turn would give away an unsupported submarine's position and probably doom it to being destroyed by surviving Iranian forces.

"The whole point of a deterrent is that it's never used," Willett said. "In designing the Dolphins as a second-strike platform, I imagine the Israelis were thinking 'it's not ideal, but it's the best we've got'."

Israel does not discuss its nuclear capabilities, under an "ambiguity" policy billed as warding off regional enemies while avoiding the kind of provocations that can trigger arms races.

Erell appeared to support such thinking. The message of his book -- which made a modest splash in Israel, and is currently available only in Hebrew -- was "how to use a submarine without resorting to war." "It's about affecting statecraft," he said.

THE TEMPLE MOUNT IN JERUSALEM

The Spotlight has now moved to the Centre of the stage of Time and Prophecy

The Temple Mount in Jerusalem

Ultimate Decoy of the Final Battle for Ownership of Jerusalem

The closing years of the millennium have seen the intensifying of

"The Battle for Jerusalem", which has now revealed itself as the culminating

flashpoint in the Middle East Crisis. The Final Countdown to Armageddon

has begun!

For decades, the Arab-Israel conflict was a potential fuse to the igniting of

an international military confrontation - dreaded of nuclear magnitude.

The historic signing of the Oslo Peace Treaty on 15 Sept. 1993,

suddenly turned the spotlight onto the back stage of the world drama,

as Jerusalem, in glittering array, stepped challengingly through the

darkened crimson curtains of history, onto the centre of the stage -

revealing itself as the pivotal, contentious issue in the millennia-old

struggle for control of it's soul.

As early as 1967, after Israeli troops occupied Jerusalem, bringing

Jews back for praying at the foundations of their ancient, Roman

destroyed Temple for the first time in 2000 years, Jerusalem was

already important enough to warrant several United Nations

Resolutions to restrict Jewish claims on Jerusalem, their ancient Capital.

Gradually it is becoming clear, that not Arab interests, not

Palestinian oppression, not Jewish occupation, not territory, nor

Peace, is really the issue - but, control of Jerusalem, now emerges

as the flashpoint to, what Ancient Prophecies, as long as 3000 years

ago, predicted would be the Cause for a Final World War of

catastrophic magnitude - marking "The End of the World".

Suddenly the Jewish 3000-year old claim to it's ancient Capital

- the central theme of Jewish prayer throughout its 2000-year

exile from the Land - is vehemently opposed by the Palestinians who

have never yet had a capital city. And behind the scenes, the

Pope is making urgent overtures for internationalisation of Jerusalem

under his control as Peacemaker. In concert, the whole world has

turned against Israel and its Divinely mandated right to Jerusalem.

Why is control of Jerusalem so important to these opposing interests?

Recent developments in the Middle East Crisis, have been drawing

the spotlight onto the real nucleus of this explosive subject, which

until now has been totally overlooked by the news media, namely

the real 'inner soul' of Jerusalem - the Sacred Temple Mount.

Here currently stands an internationally well known landmark -

the golden domed Muslim Bayt al Maqdas, known as the Dome of the

Rock - and next to it, the silver domed Al Aqsa Mosque (Masjid e Aqsa).

This, to Muslims, is the third holiest site in the world. For Jews,

it is the exact Site where anciently two successive Jewish Temples

stood, over a period of some 1000 years preceding the Common Era

- First, the Temple of Solomon, a masterpiece of ancient architecture

until its destruction at the time of the Babilonian Exile, six

centuries BCE. Second, the Temple of Herod, where Jesus, the

contending Jewish Messiah, attended Jewish worship Services. It

also is the Site where, according to the Bible, the future Third

Temple of the Jews are to be erected and where God will appear

in Great Power at the time of the War of Armageddon.

And that is what makes this Temple Mount Site, which is pivotal

to the opposing interests of the world's three major religions,

the real flash point in "The Battle for Jerusalem.

Muslim building projects on the Temple Mount and the expansion of a Muslim cemetery alongside the Mount have led to significant damage to the site in recent years and have created an unsightly hodge-podge of repairs and construction.

The 35-acre Temple Mount is the most hotly contested piece of property on earth. Holy to the world’s three monotheistic religions—Judaism, Islam and Christianity—it has for decades been the focal point of tensions between Jews and Arabs. The fight over the Temple Mount has sparked riots, such as those in 1996 after Israel opened an exit to a tunnel alongside the Mount (which allowed many more visitors to go through the tunnel) and the Second Intifada (Palestinian uprising), which began after future Prime Minister Ariel Sharon visited the Mount in 2000.

In 1967, during the Six Day War, Israel captured east Jerusalem, including the Old City, which contains the Temple Mount. Although the Mount is technically under Israeli supervision, the Temple Mount has since the war been in the de facto control of the Muslim Waqf (religious endowment). The long-established policy, known as the “status quo,” is to leave Muslim and Christian holy sites in the hands of their respective religions.1 Therefore, the above ground area of the Temple Mount is reserved for Muslims and their religious observances. Although Jews and members of other religions have been allowed on the Mount since 2003 (there was a three-year exclusion after the Second Intifada started), none are allowed to pray there. Muslim authorities and the Israeli police keep the 40-year-old anti-prayer rule strictly enforced. Jews are only allowed to pray at the plaza outside the Western (or Wailing) Wall, part of the retaining wall built by Herod in the first century B.C.

Since the late 1940s, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has been in charge of the Waqf as the custodian of Muslim holy places, including the Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa mosque, which stand on the Temple Mount. But in the early 1990s, Palestinian leader Yassar Arafat took over control of the Waqf, and a systematic destruction of any vestige of Jewish presence on the Mount was begun. Arafat claimed that there never was a Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, an opinion often referred to as “Temple Denial.”2

During the ten-year “reign” of Arafat on the Temple Mount, and in the years since his death, numerous unauthorized and archaeologically unsupervised construction projects have been carried out. In 1996 the Waqf began converting the underground area of the Mount popularly known as Solomon’s Stables into a large mosque. It has bulldozed parts of the top of the mount to make way for “open” mosques, cleaned ancient cisterns, paved over ancient areas, damaged an ancient wall, dug a trench for a utility line, and removed thousands of tons of “debris,” from the site, dumping it in the Kidron valley.3 They’ve also employed a huge electric saw to cut up ancient stones from the Temple Mount, destroying any historical evidence the stones may have offered. An analysis in the early 1990s found that the Waqf had committed more than 35 violations of Israeli antiquities law on the site.4

Partly as a result of the construction, which has gone unchecked for years,5 the walls of the Temple Mount have weakened. As early as 2000, Israeli archaeologists noticed a bulge in the southern wall.6 An earthquake in February 2004 created another bulge in the eastern wall. The southern wall was repaired by a Jordanian team of engineers, a compromise because neither the Palestinian authority nor the Israeli government wanted the other to do the repairs. The Jordanian repairs to the southern wall have left an unsightly splotch—the new building blocks that were used to replace damaged ones do not match the old ones in color, and the result looks like a large patch.

The eastern wall is currently under repair by a joint Jordanian-Egyptian team. The joint team of engineers was called in at the behest of the Jordanian government, who regained custodianship of the Temple Mount in 2004 as part of the earlier Israel-Jordan peace agreement. That repair work has its own unsightliness—scaffolding currently covers the repair area.

The latest Muslim encroachment to the Temple Mount is at the “straight joint” and the Ophel road at the southeastern corner of the Temple Mount. The “straight joint” is a masonry seam marking the end of the pre-Herodian Temple Mount and the beginning of Herod’s extension of the wall southward; the masonry in the extension abuts the masonry to the north and is not interlocked with it. This was first excavated by Charles Warren in the 19th century, and then by Kathleen Kenyon, who stopped because of the outbreak of the 1967 war. Two Muslim cemeteries, one located north of the straight joint. The area south of the straight joint has been declared an archaeological park. It has no longstanding history as a cemetery, but new Muslim graves have now been filling this area.

The Israeli government has done nothing to prevent this increasing encroachment on the Temple Mount. The IAA is powerless to interfere because it has been so ordered by the highest levels of government.

The Jerusalem Post called the state of the Temple Mount an “archaeological tragedy,” and Eilat Mazar, one of the members of a group of scholars, archaeologists, jurists and luminaries known as the Committee for the Prevention of the Destruction of Antiquities on the Temple Mount founded in 2000, said, that the government has to do something: “This is the most important site in Israel, and yet we don’t see the authorities there. We have to wake up and realize that if we don’t take care of it, the vandalism and illegal construction will continue.”7 The committee filed a complaint with the High Court of Justice in May to stop the extension of the Muslim cemeteries.

The result of all the destruction and encroachment is an unsightly mess. The repair to the southern wall is visible even at a distance, the eastern wall is currently covered in scaffolding, and graves snake up the land to the Temple Mount wall.—K.E.M.

WASHINGTON, D.C.

Nuclear attack on D.C. a hypothetical disaster

By Gary Emerling
April 16, 2008

A nuclear device detonated near the White House would kill roughly 100,000 people and flatten downtown federal buildings, while the radioactive plume from the explosion would likely spread toward the Capitol and into Southeast D.C., contaminating thousands more.

The blast from the 10-kiloton bomb — similar to the bomb dropped over Hiroshima during World War II — would kill up to one in 10 tourists visiting the Washington Monument and send shards of glass flying the length of the National Mall, in a scenario that has become increasingly likely to occur in a major U.S. city in recent years, panel members told a Senate committee yesterday.

"It's inevitable," said Cham E. Dallas, director of the Institute for Health Management and Mass Destruction Defense at the University of Georgia, who has charted the potential explosion's effect in the District and testified before a hearing of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. "I think it's wistful to think that it won't happen by 20 years."

The Senate committee has convened a series of hearings to examine the threat and effects of a terrorist nuclear attack on a U.S. city, as well as the needed response.

Yesterday's panel stressed the importance of state and local cooperation with federal authorities in the wake of an attack, assistance from the private business sector to aid recovery and the dire need to boost the capabilities of area hospitals.

They recommended expanding emergency personnel by training physicians like pharmacists and dentists to aid in all-hazards care, monitoring the exposure of first responders to radiation and clearly disseminating information to the public.

"The scenarios we discuss today are very hard for us to contemplate, and so emotionally traumatic and unsettling that it is tempting to push them aside," said Sen. Joe Lieberman, Connecticut independent and committee chairman. "However, now is the time to have this difficult conversation, to ask the tough questions, and then to get answers as best we can and take preparatory and preventive action."

Ashton B. Carter, co-director of the Preventive Defense Project at Harvard University, said the likelihood of a nuclear attack on U.S. soil is undetermined, but it has increased with the proliferation of weapons by Iran and North Korea and the failure to secure Russia's nuclear arsenal following the Cold War.

Berlin’s Reviving Military Traditions

April 14, 2008 | From theTrumpet.com

As Germany’s military presence expands into combat zones around the world, the nation is rediscovering its military traditions—and shattering generation-long taboos. By Andrew Miiller

Sixty-three years after the downfall of the Third Reich, the German military is again moving into combat zones around the world. As German soldiers march to battle in areas such as Kosovo and Afghanistan, Germany is finding it necessary to come up with ways to revive the nation’s military traditions—without awakening memories of Nazi atrocities.

Many Germans are circumventing this dilemma by downplaying Germany’s Nazi history and glorifying their pre-Nazi military traditions—and heroes.

Among those who take such a stance are the German filmmakers who recently shattered a two-generation-long taboo by releasing a movie that openly glorifies the iconic hero of the Second Reich—the Red Baron. Baron Manfred von Richthofen—the most successful German fighter pilot of his era—shot down 80 Allied planes and massacred an unspecified number of Allied infantry over the course of Word War i. These military exploits made Richthofen one of the most feared warriors of Kaiser Wilhelm.

The film puts a new twist on the old icon, however. Instead of presenting Richthofen as one of the deadliest servants of a man who lusted for complete domination of all Europe, this film portrays him as a tragic hero who loathed war, but was still willing to give his life for the Fatherland.

As the Telegraph says of this film:

It is set to mark a new departure for German war films, which usually reflect on the extremism, suffering and even lunacy of the Nazi era if they get made at all.

The Red Baron, in contrast, portrays a brilliant and honorable military figure whose life and early death in combat Germans can celebrate without blush.

Even though Richthofen was lionized by both Kaiser Wilhelm ii and Adolf Hitler, he is apparently now seen as a suitable hero for a nation that is searching for military icons. By glorifying the military traditions of the pre-Nazi German Empire, the German people are able to circumvent the Nazi era proper and gain a sense of their military history. Many feel the same way as retired Lt. Gen. Siegfried Storbeck, who claims that “The crimes of National Socialism took place under the swastika and not under the Iron Cross.”

What is being completely overlooked is that the Kaiser wanted world (or at least continental) domination as much as Hitler did and was willing to destroy hundreds of thousands of lives to obtain that desire. Indeed, the rise of National Socialism was rooted in German bitterness over the defeat of Germany in World War i and in the military traditions of the Prussian era.

Despite this, an increasing number of German citizens are looking to pre-Nazi history as an era they should be proud of and learn from. Even as the Red Baron hits cinemas across Germany, there are new calls to restore the Prussian era Iron Cross to the Bundeswehr as a medal of valor.

But this German desire to return to the nation’s military history goes much deeper than just glorifying the Second Reich. There is a growing movement that takes this attitude a step further by rewriting history to downplay the atrocities of the Third Reich itself.

Consider the following comment from the Jerusalem Post regarding revisionist historian Jรถrg Friedrich:

[There] are efforts in Germany to rewrite the past. Books by historian Jรถrg Friedrich, who compares the Allied actions to his nation’s atrocities during the war, are best-sellers. They promote “Holocaust equivalence” by using Nazi semantics to describe the Allied bombings of Germany during World War ii. Another aspect of the same attitude is expressed by the many Germans who think that Israel is showing Nazi-like behavior toward the Palestinians. What they mean to say is, “If everybody is guilty, then nobody is.”

Friedrich’s book The Fire: Germany Under Bombardment, 1940-1945 focuses on his viewpoint that the Allied bombings of Dresden, Hamburg, Cologne, Kassel and Wurzburg were unnecessary massacres motivated by rage at the Nazis’ refusal to capitulate. Friedrich accuses the Allies of using unjust means of warfare that had a moral equivalency to many of the atrocities committed by the Nazis—ignoring the truth that the Allies almost did not save Western civilization because they were too cautious in their dealings with Nazi Germany.

Retired Chief Commander of the German Armed Forces Klaus Naumann—an outspoken proponent of increased German involvement in both Afghan and Middle East security missions—has come out in full support of Friedrich’s views on World War ii by saying, “What you have to deplore is that the British systematically put the extermination of the German civilian population at the center of their war strategy.”

Would esteemed German authors and military leaders be so quick to criticize the Allies’ handling of World War ii if they were truly repentant for what the Nazis did to Europe and the world?

This denial of past guilt, coupled with the glorification of the military spirit of Prussia, reveals a dangerous mindset that is gaining momentum among German citizens. As Germany shatters generation-long taboos and returns to its military traditions of the past, the leaders of America and Britain would be wise to remember their promise to the world when American President Franklin Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill said in a February 1945 document, “It is our inflexible purpose to destroy German militarism and Nazism and to ensure Germany will never again be able to disturb the peace of the world.”

43 TO DEVIDE THE CITY OF PEACE

Bush, seeking to divide Jerusalem, will avoid "controversial" Kotel visit

By Israel Insider staff April 10, 2008

The advance team of President George W. Bush has requested to avoid "controversial" like Jerusalem's Western Wall and prefers Masada as the centerpiece of this visit to Israel. Bush will go from the 60th anniversary celebrations to a US-Arab summit in Sinai to which Israel has not been invited. On her recent trip, Condoleezza Rice report gave an American bridging document which calls for Jerusalem's division.

Apparently George Bush is unwilling do what even Pope John Paul had no problem with: visit the Western Wall, or Kotel, in Jerusalem's Old City. Instead he and his team apparently are leaning to Masada, the site where a group of "zealot" Jews committed suicide en masse rather than fall captive to the Romans.

Organizers of Bush's planned two-and-a-half-day stay said they had been searching for a symbolic location for the president to visit, but wanted to avoid one that might stir controversy like the Western Wall, Golan Heights or Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron.

During his stay, Bush will address the Knesset and give a speech detailing the history of U.S.-Israeli relations and his vision of its future. White House staff said they were interested in organizing a meeting between Bush, his wife Laura and a group of recent immigrants to Israel.

Bush will hold meetings with Olmert, President Shimon Peres, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and Defense Minister Ehud Barak. He will take part in a conference organized by Peres that will include presidents and heads of state from around the world.

Olmert has not been invited to a regional summit at the Sinai resort town of Sharm El-Sheikh, contradicting reports he would participate in the event. Or if he was invited, he apparently has refused. Former Meretz leader Yossi Beilin said Monday that Olmert would attend the Sharm conference.

But U.S. sources said Wednesday that the summit would be attended by Bush, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Jordan's King Abdullah
Bush does not intend to visit the Palestinian Authority during his Middle East visit, but will meet Abbas in Egypt and host him in Washington a few days before his departure.

Meanwhile, an article in World Net Daily reports that The United States has proposed a plan to divide Jerusalem. The plan, divided into separate phases, calls for Israel eventually to forfeit parts of the Temple Mount, Judaism's holiest site. According to the first stage of the U.S. plan, Israel would give the PA some municipal and security sovereignty over key Arab neighborhoods in eastern Jerusalem.

The PA would be allowed to open some official institutions in Jerusalem, elect a mayor for the Palestinian side of the city and deploy police forces to maintain law and order. The initial stage also calls for the PA to operate Jerusalem municipal institutions.

After five years, if both sides keep their commitments, according to the U.S. plan, the PA would be given full sovereignty over the eastern Jerusalem neighborhoods and also over unspecified sections of the Temple Mount to be forfeited forever by Israel.

After the five year period, the PA could deploy official security forces in Jerusalem other than the police force (in other words, an army) and could also open major governmental institutions, such as a president's office, and ministries for the finance and foreign ministries.

The U.S. plan leaves Israel and the PA to negotiate which Jerusalem neighborhoods would become Palestinian. WND cites sources as saying that American officials recommended that sections of Jerusalem's Old City as well as largely Arab Jerusalem neighborhoods such as Jabal mukabar, Beit Hanina, Shoafat, Abu Dis and Abu Tur would be severed from Israel's Jerusalem municipality and become Palestinian.

Olmert's government has hinted a number of times it will divide Jerusalem. In December, Israeli Vice Premier Haim Ramon said the country "must" give up sections of Jerusalem for a future Palestinian state, and said the Palestinians can rename their part of Jerusalem "to whatever they want." He said "the Jewish neighborhoods, including Har Homa, will remain under Israeli sovereignty, and the Arab neighborhoods will be the Palestinian capital, which they will call Jerusalem or whatever they want."

Israel recaptured eastern Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount -- Judaism's holiest site -- during the 1967 Six Day War. The Palestinians have claimed Jerusalem as their capital. About 231,000 Arabs live in Jerusalem, mostly in eastern neighborhoods, and many reside in illegally constructed complexes. The city has an estimated total population of 724,000.

JERRY GOLDEN - ISRAEL

If you can't handle the truth don't read this one.

If you have been listening to the news you know that once again we see

Syria building

up their armed forces on our northern border. This is the largest military

build up they

have ever made. It is also known that Russia and Iran have supplied them

with many

advanced missiles capable for reaching all parts of Israel. At the same

time Hezbollah

has been very busy rebuilding their missile base under the watchful eye

of the UN troops

who at times have been known to even assist. Russia, Iran and North

Korea have made

sure that Hezbollah has longer range missiles in order to reach much

deeper into Israel

(Tel-Aviv) in this coming war.

Next week Israel will hold its largest ever nation wide simulated missile

attack drill, it will

continue from Sunday through Thursday. School children from

Kindergarten through

the 12th grade will be involved. Everyone in Israel should be advised

as to where they

need to run in the event of a surprise attack.

Once again we hear the IDF will be testing the Arrow anti-missile

Missile to see it is

capable of intercepting the Iranian Shihab 3 missile. A Black Sparrow

missile will be

fired off the coast over the Mediterranean Sea from an IAF fighter Jet

and will have

all the characteristics of a Shihab 3. This brings something to mind,

some friends of

ours living in Cyprus by chance witnessed the interception of a similar

test last year

while setting on their roof. At the time they had no idea what was

happening.

Things certainly are not looking good around here and what I am

about to write is

simply my take on this build up of arms and what is about to happen not

only here but

possibly in the US as well. Please keep in mind this is my opinion from

the way I see

developing.

There are other possible scenarios but one thing is certain we are now

being directed

by the powers to be to watch smoke screens and other diversions.

That is not to say

that what is happening and about to happen in the Middle East

(Namely Israel) isn’t real

but the plans to take out the US is far more important to Russia and the

Islamic world than

that of Israel. Israel is on the top of the list of importance by the Devil

who plans on setting

up his seat on the Temple Mount.

For those who think that the Russian Bear has been declawed are terribly

mistaken and

Putin is still in power and has only one thing in mind and that is revenge

and to become

the worlds only Super Power. If we look around all the nuclear plants

Russian is building

are in the nations that hate and want to destroy Israel and the US. They

arm the enemies

of Israel and the US with high tech missile and bombs. They feel that once

again they have

Syria and Iran as well as Hezbollah with the needed advantage to take

Israel out this time

with the added assistance of Hamas that has been rearmed with heavy

weaponry. But

Russia thought they had given enough to Syria, Jordan, and Egypt in

67, 73 and again

in 82 and failed as they will once again. This of course brings on the

necessary battle

of Armageddon that is in the not so distance future where Russia will

lead the charge only

to come face to face with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

It is no secret that Russia has several nuclear submarines off both coast

of the US

capable to taking out any US city at will. They are now flying there

nuclear bombers

over Alaska’s border and forever testing the US will to stop them.

The US 5th and 6th

fleets are getting regular low level fly over by Russian Bombers.

The global Islamic threat as serious as it is plays right into the hands

of the Russian plan.

You see unlike the US and Israel the Russians will not hesitate to solve

that problem when

they need to but for the time being it is the diversion they need to

prepare for their attack.

Many believe the Russians will send nuclear missiles across the US,

that will not happen,

what will happen are a few large cities like New York, L.A. possibly a

few others and then

they will simply tell the White House to surrender or else face total

destruction of the whole

country. The US will at that time be faced with surrender or total global

destruction by all

out global nuclear war. Not a nice picture I know this picture is not complete

I am sure. For

the Illuminati and others realize that with 6+ BILLION world population

promising to

increase by at least 50% in the coming years there is not enough food

supplies not to

mention energy to sustain such a global population. We read in the

Word of God Zechariah

13:8 AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS, IN ALL THE LAND, SAITH THE

LORD, TWO PARTS

THEREIN SHALL BE CUT OFF AND DIE; BUT THE THIRD PART SHALL

BE LEFT THEREIN.

That is as straight to the point as God can possibly put it. Today we

are seeing how all this

has been arranged to happen.

In short what we are about to witness (those who overcome or somehow survive)

is the stage

being set for the appearance of the anti-Christ. This event will once again be

directed right

back here in Israel as he will set up his base of power on the Temple Mount,

it is at that time

we will start the 7 year countdown (3 ½ and 3 ½). It is at this time we will

witness the return

of the Messiah Zechariah 14:4. What I am putting forth here is a blanket

overview not a

complete picture of future events for many thousands of events will occur

during this

scenario and thousands of false Prophets will be heard across the land

and they will

deceive many but not the very Elect of God.

It is obvious to me that many will reject this report, and I understand why

most people want

to eat pie in the sky and escape all the horror that is soon to be upon us,

but they best begin

to prepare first by getting as close to Yeshua as possible in all areas of

their life and bring

there family as well. Those Pastors who will not preach the truth and still cling

to the deception

of total escape will have to answer to an angry God for they were hirelings and

not Pastors.

We are asked what will happen to this Ministry in all of this, the answer is

simple we will

continue being obedient to God’s call and we will assist in bringing God’s

chosen back

to the Land He promise them and His Word will come to pass Isa. 11:11.

There are so many other things that could be added to this report, such

as the decline of

the dollar and the Bush Plan to bring in the North American currency.

China’s possible

calling in their debt in the US causing the US to go bankrupt. Or Russia,

Venezuela, Iran

and possible OPEC to begin selling oil for Euros instead of dollars making

the dollar without

any backing.

But there is one result that many will or are not too concerned with right

now, and that is

the blame for all of this will once again be placed on the backs of the Jews,

and another

holocaust will occur this time on a global bases. Jews will be running for

their lives not only

in Europe but throughout the world. God is speaking to many of us to be

ready to save as

many Jewish lives as we possible can, I pray if you are being touched by

God that you will

be obedient for much depends on your obedience.

We are soon to complete the transaction for the second larger boat.

Don’t be surprised if

I start trying to find another one. In fact what we really need is a much

larger one like this one.

But one like this cost several million dollars but could carry a

thousand at a time.

It would

take a full time Captain and crew, most of which would all be

Christian volunteers.

Lets allow ourselves to believe God for greater things and to allow us

to save many

more Jewish lives.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for our son Joel and all the IDF, pray

for this Ministry

and your part in it.

Shalom, jerry golden
